Exceptional Creatives: Originality is usually sparked by other people's creations.

WELCOME

Who are you? Define yourself in three words or less. What do you want to be when you grow up? You’re a senior in high school- have you picked your major yet? If you haven’t you better decide quickly or you will just be wasting your time.  Don’t listen to people who say you have to pick your major at this moment in time, you have time. Don’t allow people to rush you. Oh, you want to major in economics…why is that? Your goal shouldn’t be money because it can’t buy happiness. Don’t listen to people who say money can’t buy happiness, because that isn’t what it’s about. Money gets your bills paid. Are you volunteering for anything, it’ll look good on your resume. You're taking a break from college? But why don't you care about your future? You quit college, because you think it is a scam? What will your future kids think? How will you support them if whatever you're doing doesn’t work out? What if you get a divorce then what? Oh, you're never going to attend and you're going to jump straight into work, do you know how much of a struggle that is? It’ll take years for you to jump up ahead. Listen to your parents or the adults on these life decisions they know better. You have been a barista for five years- have you even gained anything? What are you doing to move up? Don’t you desire growth? When are you getting married? Do you want to get married? How many kids do you want? What if you get twins? Oh so, you’re one of those feminists aren’t you that’s why you aren’t married? What does that word even mean anymore? Who do you look up to? What do you hope you have accomplished by the time you're thirty?

All these questions and comments about someone else’s future. These types of questions begin at age eleven. An eleven-year-old who has just entered puberty. They know nothing about how their body is changing and how their emotions are changing and yet adults feel the need to ask kids these questions. If their response is I don't know, then we have to ‘help’ them by asking about their interests. Oh...you like math, maybe you can look into STEM. What is the purpose of not allowing them to have interests just to have an interest. As they get older, they should be contributing to something they find important, or something that they feel intrigued by. However, by the time these teenagers enter adulthood they feel so lost because of their  unrealistic expectations of the world thanks to parents and any other adult who has played some kind of a role in their life. All the pressure that has been forced upon their brain is now catching up to them.

It is not an easy task to know what you want from life and a lot of people in the world make the youth feel trapped by their opinions. The truth is most of these young people aren’t aware of the fact that mostly everything that’s being said to them is just opinions and not facts. Their intelligence is being stolen because of the undeniable pressure. They lack creativity, and yes there are multiple factors that play into that such as: video games, social media, binge watching, drugs, alcohol etc. All these topics deserve to be discussed, but adults shouldn’t expect a human being who hasn’t been alive for that long to feel constant urgency. It is essential to make them productive but that should be done by encouraging them to explore their ingenuity. All those questions drive a young person insane by the time they're in their 20s.

Something to take note of: if your kids are attending school for 7+ hours and then on top of that they have all these extracurricular activities/electives, that isn’t the definition of them figuring out who they want to be in the future. By the time they reach home they are mentally exhausted because of the checklist provided to them. If you do not do this, this, and this, you will not shine the way you are meant to in the future. Therefore, you  cannot really blame them for wanting to spend too much time on video games, social media, binge watching, drugs, alcohol, or better yet sleeping. Some of you might think/believe that once your child has gotten their degree and found a job, and even started a family, they have accomplished everything they needed to, that they have found their purpose. Well, you are incorrect because they have just followed a formula and they possess thoughts and emotions they do not wish to have because of their upbringing. Someone can have their degree and still not know their purpose. Someone can be married and have kids and still not know their purpose. They know they have to look after the ones they love and not ever abandon them, but what do they love about life or themselves? They can be praying and still not know the point of their accomplishments. They do not know the answers to these basic facts about their life, they are just doing what’s expected.

The purpose of this blog is to educate, inspire, and entertain young adults who feel like they are lost or that their creative spark has been swiped away from them. It is to assure them that they are not a lost cause by motivating them to showcase their interests. There are so many creative individuals who can be successful in starting their own business or joining a small organization. All they need to do is learn about others’ creative process, and what made them take a chance on their passion. They will come across the blogger’s stories too.

This blog can help young adults who might be lacking creativity because originality is usually being sparked by other people’s creations.

The cool thing about this blog: whatever someone may feel intrigued by, that topic is easy to navigate. Different interests, simple navigation.

Here is what readers can expect from this blog: innovative minds (profiles on people who will be interviewed), undiscovered poetry, honest opinions on a various things, essays, photography, and even favorite recipes.
